BJP MLA made two mistakes on Operation Sindoor, gave written statement for the third time (X )
BJP MLA Narendra Prajapati from Mangawan in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh is in soup after a sequence of incriminating statements on the India-Pakistan military war. The statements of the MLA have brought about a controversy, and the party ultimately compelled him to make not one, nor two, but three clarifications.
During a Tiranga Yatra in Rewa, Prajapati asserted that without the order of ceasefire by the United Nations, Pakistan would have been eliminated. But the party soon realized their fault and asked him to revise his statement.
In a hurry, Prajapati phoned the media to explain his statement, saying that he had intended to say "United States" rather than "United Nations". He explained that without US intervention, the war would have been continuing, and Pakistan's map would have been different.
But Prajapati's second revised statement also boomeranged, and the party awoke to yet another gaffe. The MLA was eventually compelled to read out a scripted statement in a wedding ceremony, where he said that his previous statement had been taken out of context.
In his last clarification, Prajapati said that Indian Army had gone into Pakistan and destroyed 9 terrorist camps, and that the economy of Pakistan was collapsing prior to its appeal for a ceasefire. Prajapati also lauded PM Narendra Modi's leadership, stating that India will become a global leader under his rule.
The BJP reaction to Prajapati's gaffes has been prompt, with the party compelling him to make repeated clarifications. The episode serves to underscore the dilemmas confronting politicians as they deal with intricate diplomatic matters.
